How do I create a filter menu/bar for a dynamic page

Hi their community X,
I would like to know how to create a filter menu/bar for a dynamic page. This would allow me to select a category button and filter results to show that particular catergory. The below image demonstrates what I would like this filter to appear and function like.

No worries. Not sure if I had missed the original picture but saw that the picture you have has checkboxes. Currently, to filter by checkboxes is a feature request but if you know some coding or are willing to get a coder, seems you might be able to accomplish it.
