I am trying to build a website that contains videos from Youtube. Is there any ways to build a search bar that direct the results to youtube videos/website? I have dowloaded Site search app, but it doesn’t direct users to data from external source - in fact, when I click on the search result, I am being directed to the my website’s “home page”. I hope that someone from the Wix forum can advice me. It is much appreciated.

Hi Lana!
Assuming you’ve got to the point where your search functionality itself is up and working well, you’ll need to save the videos you want to feature in your site as items in a collection.
One of the fields that the items will need to contain would be a URL of the video (in YouTube) and you can present the results of the search in a repeater where you’ll have a button (that is connected to a dataset or is coded to-) direct to the URL of the item on click event.
Let me know if it works for you.
Doron.
Hi Doron
Thank you so much for your reply and advice. I am very new to Wix and I have no experience in coding, so I hope that you will bear with me. I am still using the free version of site search app. I have tried to create item collection in the database one with links to youtube and one with uploaded video. It still doens’t work.
Could you pls elaborate on " you can present the results of the search in a repeater where you’ll have a button (that is connected to a dataset or is coded to-) direct to the URL of the item on click event. Does this mean that I need to code?
Thank you in advance.
You probably have a video or two that you’d like to share with more than just your loved ones. Why not go a step further and upload your videos to the web - namely YouTube? The most popular channels can rack up millions of views and subscribers. But everyone starts somewhere. So hurry up and decide on the topic of your drain and go ahead - shoot! When you’ve hit your material and edited your video, it’s time to upload it to the web. But here’s where you might have a little problem: YouTube doesn’t support your file format. Fortunately, only coconvert.com can help you.
You would have to create a database first. If you know some bit of code, then you can build up the database. You could add URLs to videos or just upload them to your Wix collections and then you would like to configure the Site Search so that the Search Results page brings only the video content you want your site visitors to view.
