Hi all,
In my country there are 2 types of invoice. One is personal and the other one is for work.
This is an important choice while purchasing. So, there should be a clear indication for that and also there should be different sections like tax number etc. to fill at the checkout.
I can change this at checkout settings by adding conditional rules with existing settings which is great. However, after the customer completes this area and proceeds with the shipment, the payment section comes up. On that section there is a question asking if the invoice will be for the same address. Although I solved this problem in checkout page, the customer faces such a question as a duplicate. Even more, for this area there is no settings that I can change things for the work information such as tax number.
So, the question is, is there any possibility to adjust the settings in the payment section? At least, is there any way to delete the check box asking for a different address for the invoice?
Thank you for your time.
I understand your situation. While Wix doesn’t allow full customization of the payment section in the same way it lets you adjust the checkout settings, there are still ways to make things smoother for your customers.
Thanks for the reply, what are those things?
Here’s how you can handle the issue of duplicate invoice prompts and missing fields for work-related invoices:
- Simplify Checkout Options: Use conditional rules in the checkout settings to clearly separate “Personal” and “Work” invoices. Make sure all required fields, like tax numbers, are included for each type.
- Remove Redundant Prompts: If the payment section repeats the invoice address question, check if there’s an option to hide or disable that checkbox. Some platforms let you customize these prompts or remove unnecessary ones.
- Handle Missing Fields: If you can’t add work-related fields like a tax number in the payment section, consider adding them earlier in the checkout process and linking that data to the order.
- Ask for Help if Needed: If these adjustments aren’t possible within the platform’s settings, contact the platform’s support team. They might have a way to override or customize the payment section.
This approach should make the process clearer for your customers while avoiding repetitive or missing information.
I spoke with customer service, and they informed me that it is currently not possible to make those changes. Although these adjustments are critical for compliance with local regulations in my country, they assured me the changes will be implemented eventually. In the meantime, I need to rely on workarounds, such as notifying my customers via a message not to select the latter checkbox, which feels quite unprofessional.
Yeah, they said correct and it’s not possible as the wix checkout has limitations, however we can achieve this through coding stuff, we will use custom checkout instead of wix
yes that can be done through custom coding.
How and when can you do that?
We can start on Monday; however, custom features take time to implement.
I see, the sooner the better as it may cause some serious problems in terms of legislation here.
The only customization to the existing page is to eliminate one checkbox. Is it still necessary to write the whole checkout page from scratch? In other words, can you do it using the existing set up and just adjusting one part?
this problem can be resolved in less amount of time
