Hi All,
I used a Wix template to create a site for my wife. When I look at it on line it shows someone else’s name. Is is possible to edit the home page in HTML and change it. If so, how would I best go about it?
Thanks,
Eddie
Hey Eddie,
It shows someone else’s name where? Is it a data connection? HTML is supported only in iFrames and the Tracking & Analytics tools.
Hi David,
Thanks for the reply. When you right click and view page source you can see the name there. Any advise on how to change it as Wix support isn’t even bothering to reply to me. Not considering upgrading with them if that is how they help customers.
Regards,
Eddie
Sounds like you are on the free Wix site only and hence why you get the longer url name instead of just your own domain name - Assigned URL: username.wixsite.com/siteaddress

Plus, as for Wix Support, remember the time zones that they operate in as it might not always be the same as yourself, plus the fact that it is the weekend so they might not reply until Monday at the earliest.
As for viewing the page source when you right click the page, well everybody has that so it isn’t just yourself. Basically you are seeing all of the code that Wix uses to create and run your website, after all it is the page source and you can’t change it unless you go and edit your site again!
You can do similar when using the developer tools in Chrome and similar in Firefox and Edge too.
We all have the same regardless of if we are on the free or paid plans with Wix, this is mine for example:
