How can I upload an image and not have it to lower the quality?

What are you trying to achieve:
I am designing a web and every time I upload an image it looks to have lower quality than before. I know that Wix converts the images to WebP format, but I need them to have better quality. The resolution is good before I upload.
What have you already tried:
I have tried to change the resolution before uploading but is useless and the upscale image tool does nothing to help.
Additional information:
I need to have good quality on the images because is our graphic design studio web and we need to showcase a lot of projects and having bad quality is not good. Thank you in advance if you have any suggestions that would help
