Invited Contributor can see all my media files

My workflow is to create a WIX site and at an appropriate point, as the owner, invite my clients to be contributors (usually as Admin). If I’m adding images to a client site I create a folder for each client.

Lately, I’ve noticed that clients invited as Admin contributors are able to see all my other client folders listed under their site files. This doesn’t seem right. How can I prevent contributors to one site seeing image folders associated with another?

Hi! I’m going to escalate this to support for you. That doesn’t seem like it’s working as intended.

Thanks Brett, appreciate it.

Hey,
As the new Media manager is site based - you no longer need to manage folder per client as we do it for you! Each site now has its own media manager that stores all files uploaded to that site. When you add contributors to the site they have full access to the media manager.

Thanks

Hey Yaaraa, thanks for getting back to me, but I’m not sure if this addresses the issue. I wouldn’t expect clients whom I’ve invited to be contributors to specific sites to be able to see all media files from all sites that I own. Surely that wasn’t the intention?

Actually, I think this is the correct way to go rather then limit each contributor to their own media libraries.

See, if I was just invited to contribute to a website that needs online shop complete overhaul, if my access is only to files I upload, I have no way to use the full site products images and need to go online to the live website, download the image I need, and reupload it to my own library.

Might sound like an easy thing to do but if the shop has hundreds of products, this is a major problem if I have to do it product by product.

Allowing a contributor full access to the website media library is the way to go, at least from my experience.

I like the way it worked before. I had the images organized the way I liked and I could easily find the photos I wanted to use that I might have uploaded to a different named folder. With the newer system, I often have trouble finding the photos I am looking for. It takes extra steps now to seek out what use to be at my fingertips. Even doing edits on old sites is a hassle to locate images. I did not know the clients could now see all the media. That doesn’t seem great.

I’m not complaining about the new media manager as such. I’m sure it’s been well thought out and will be an improvement. My issue is this: I have 30+ premium plans that I own for various clients. In the past, if I made clients a contributor they could only see media folders associated with their particular plan. Now they can see all folders from all plans. Regardless of how good the new media manager is, this can’t be right.

Brett, if you’re reading this, did it get escalated to support?
