I hope I am missing something and this is actually possible to do, but I haven’t found a way to set a minimum size for the scaling presets attached to the theme design. If I set it to scaling, then it looks like I either have to manually set the range for every single element on every breakpoint, or it will scale the font down to sizes that can’t be read. Is anyone else facing this?
I’ve tried using different headers for different screen sizes, but every time that I switch an element from H1 on Desktop and like H2 on Mobile, it breaks the connection. I have to be missing something here, right?
Also, has anyone managed to get the CSS to work? I haven’t tried many properties, but it appears that I can only change some properties. For instance, I can capitalize letters, but I can’t change the letter spacing. I’m assuming one way to do this would be use velo to remove the normal tag and replace it, but that’s a lot of extra work for no reason.
Any work arounds to any of this? I’d like to keep using this service, but this is becoming quite frustrating in comparison to competitors’ platforms.
Hey @aesthocrat
At the moment, it’s not possible to set a minimum size for scaling text from the typography site styles.
However, by adding an element on stage and setting it manually to the minimum font size on the desktop it will keep it to all breakpoints. Thus, not setting each font size separately to every individual breakpoint.
Thanks for the reply. I am familiar with the cascading effect. I was trying to describe the situation where the font min and max sizes were applying to each breakpoint. Not sure if it is functioning that way in studio or not, but that was the case at one point - and still might be? with Editor X.
A few questions for you:
-
Is there any intention to add the ability to set a min/max size for the theme headers?
-
Is there any way to disconnect theme colors from the header presets? The second I go about changing colors to something, it will break the connection to the preset. I’ve been trying to figure out how to best configure the color palette on this end, but I don’t see any practical use for that either, since it breaks all connections (on every platform of Wix as far as I can tell). Which is a bummer, considering it gives you the ability to save 25 colors. Maybe I’m overlooking it, or not familiar with how other people are using it.

Is there any timeline on when we can expect CSS to work more consistently with text? I have been trying to migrate a site over from editor x into studio, and the big draw for me was the css capabilities, because doing so in editor x was an absolute chore.

(edit) adding this in here because I forgot to mention. Is there any intention to add the ability to save custom letter spacing and/or line height to the custom headers? I believe? -but could be wrong- that at least one of two of those features are available in basic wix.
Liking studio so far, however, disappointed that these features (and more) were not patched into X instead of launching a new platform.
