I think it will make the development process much easier if we will able to hide boxes and sections on Editor only (currently if you mark “Don’t display” it affect the website itself as well).
Sometimes I have several layers, one over each other, and in order to edit a bottom layer I have to hide the top layer and remember to put it back before publishing, and that’s annoying.
Thanks @jonatandor35 and noted; as an aside, if you’re worried the element is completely hidden, you can use the site checker as it will look elements that are hidden throughout all breakpoints .
Also, if you have several items overlapping, I usually will select the item I need to update through the layers panel .

(Yes, I also select items through layers panel. But it’s really inconvenient to make changes when you have other layers on top.
So I always have to hide the top layers first and then remember to put them back.
I hope the dev team will create an option to hide on the Editor only one day.)
