Hey friends, looking for suggestions. It’s a long story - but I need a different way to display Events on this website - a way that DOES NOT use the Wix Events app or code/tables.
Right now I have it set up as a blog post, which won’t work long term for multiple design reasons that will conflict with her actual blog once she has posts.
She does not need people to register for events, it is only a listing of the event, information on becoming a member, and how to register once you are a member.

Hi! Doesn’t seem too difficult. It could be that you make a back end submission page for her, and then have a specific page list all the database contents on a public (event listing) page. Just a thought. ![ ](/images/emoji/google_classic/wink.png?v=12)
No code, not database stuff
it would be too complicated for her to manage and I don’t want to manage it for her
I only want to DISPLAY events, not have a way to register for them ![ ](/images/emoji/google_classic/slight_smile.png?v=12)
If you made a management site for her it’s using code, but she doesn’t have to “code”.
I know she doesn’t, she just not techie AT ALL so I’m trying to have things grouped together as much as possible. So I don’t have to show her how to use so many different functions. I just have a feeling event doing a simple database will be way over her head ![ ](/images/emoji/google_classic/confused.png?v=12)
In these cases I just miss the old days of the simple non-coded lists ![ ](/images/emoji/google_classic/sweat.png?v=12)
Those days are over. Now there is so much more you can do with wix!! It’s good though. Master this and you can provide a similar method to all your clients. ![ ](/images/emoji/google_classic/slight_smile.png?v=12)
I can easily set this up, but it would be nice if we still had the old option
@raeanne have you thought about using the forum for events as a list. That way your client can use the blog as intended, and similar function and simplicity she can just add her listings in a categorised forum. Doesn’t even have to log in to her desktop, do it from mobile.
Members sign up and have access to both blog and forum, (forum could be named event listings or similar) Create categories and sub-categories, switch on/off commenting from visitors, and she could just log in to her site anytime from any device under admin or her own personal member log in and add details to a category, make a new one etc.
I use it in place of the old list layout with the added advantages of doing it from my phone, the new forum is like combining the old list layout with the old blog…works well.
You could add sub categories like, ‘find events in’ or ‘find events about’ ‘masterclass’ ‘yoga’ bla bla bla ![ ](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/google_classic/slight_smile.png?v=12)
Then if she ever wants to sell a ticket, just create a ticket event and hyperlink the text in her post to the ticket page.
This is a good idea! I ended up setting up a repeater with a database but I may have to try this out in the future. Thank you!!
