Marketplace for freelancers

Hey guys,

Just wanted to ask some advice for a freelancer potentially entering the marketplace. How many leads are you guys receiving a week? And is there enough leads/sales to make this full time or do you still look for clients outside of the platform?

Thanks!

Great question. It really depends. Some of the vets who have high ranks receive significant leads. Many partners use this as their exclusive leads, but most will tell You it’s healthy to diversify your lead generation.

Welcome to the community!

Well, Honestly the way Wix marketplace works, in my opinion, won’t help freelancers convert these leads as I also see that you have to do lots of hard work just to communicate with the lead [client] and at the end, your email may not be viewed at all. Back when I was using Marketplace to hire someone to do some Wix work for me I used to get all the emails from freelancers on my email inbox which I sometimes don’t open at all.

Also when it comes to the leads requests, the way Marketplace work does not allow people to give more details for their issue or enough information about the project.

There are many things that I don’t actually like on Wix Marketplace and I’ll be doing a full video for all these things I see could be Wix marketplace cons.

I hope Wix can develop a full functional freelancing platform like PeoplePerHour, Upwork, freelancer, and Fiverr. of course it does not have to be the same but leads must be able to add more clear details and information about their project and also all communication must be through the platform instead of sending an email to each lead manually. Also, the payments must be handled by Wix just like all the other freelancing platforms instead of paying half of the price or full for a stranger or also doing all the work as a freelancer for a stranger before paying you.

There is a lot that must be said

I get all my clients in other freelancing platforms, Search engine, and referrals
