New Feature: Site Search

What is Site Search?
Let visitors find anything on your site using Site Search.
This app adds a search bar and a dedicated search results page so visitors can locate the information they need with ease.

Once a visitor enters a term, Site Search looks through your site pages, store products, blog posts and much more, improving the overall discoverability of your content. The results of the search are displayed clearly in a list on the search results page so that your visitors can easily find what they are looking for.

Steps to add Site Search:

  1. Click Add on the top of Editor X.

  2. Click Menu & Search on the left.

  3. Select Site Search .

  4. Click the Add to Site icon next to Site Search to add the app

Hi Edu, if search has been improved this is great news. For sites with lots of content, search is critical as I’m sure you know. I’ve already got wix search on my website - should I delete it and reinstall? I’m not clear from the above if the product has improved from a customer experience perspective. What exactly do you mean by fully responsive - what has changed?

how can i connect the search bar to a database ?

Currently, you can do that indirectly by creating Dynamic Pages. They’re automatically indexed for you.

Great news!!

Thank you so much!!

Sometimes when I put a query in and press enter, it just redirects back to the home page. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Are you testing it on a Live site or in Preview? Currently, search works only on the Live site.

@adas-bradauskas I tested it on a live site, but quickly removed it when it wasnt working as intended

@adas-bradauskas do you mind answering my above question: Hi Edu, if search has been improved this is great news. For sites with lots of content, search is critical as I’m sure you know. You could not have installed Site Search app on Editor X site way before this announcement. If you have, it means you managed to that by accident and there is a potential that there are a few small bugs. But if it functions well for you, don’t think you need to worry.
