How to prevent every collaborator from getting new message notifications for one collaborators conversation with an online client.

I want all collaborators to get notifications when a lead sends a message in the chat box so anyone can respond to it. however, with this “new message notifications” feature enabled, if collaborator A responds to the message and has a conversation with the lead, Collaborators B, C, D, and E will get notifications for every single response Collaborator receives in this single conversation. If multiple collaborators are conversing with leads at the same time, everyone’s inbox will be overflowed with irrelevant new message notifications which can get confusing.
The only way to get around this is to just have notifications enabled for specific forms and not have a live chat box feature available at all. However, with new message notifications on, even responding to form leads in the inbox will result in all collaborators getting notified for every response in the conversation.
Can anyone think of a good solution to this? does it have to be just one person monitoring the inbox and responding to leads? Do I have to look through and assign every new lead to people to prevent an overflow of notifications to every other collaborator? how can I get notifications when a lead is contacting us, but not have every employee notified for every message they send in a single conversation?
