We see a market for sites with monthly mini payment of about 0,99 cents or more.
We have questioned our user base and potential customers and people would love to spend just 0,99 euro to be part of club, receive a magazine or customized content from their loved artist. The current Wix processing fee is 0,30USD/EUR, about 30% of the plan + there is the regular 2,6% commission. This makes the whole potential market unaffordable. Is there any way to avoid this fee or would you please consider its removal?
Not likely. Processing/transaction fees are what helps Wix stay afloat, and in otherwords, helps them help you host your website. If you wish to forgo Wix transaction fees, you would need to use another platform with different standards for payment processing. However, those sites would possibly have their own transaction fees. Just like taxes, evading fees are not possible.
The request is not to remove the whole transactions fees but just the fixed amount of 0,30EUR/USD. So with monthly payments of 0,99 do not have a 33% transaction fee. It would remain the classic 2.6% or something more Wix will live with.
If you have 1000 payments of 1 USD, the total amount of transaction is 1000 USD and transaction fees of 26EUR/USD
If your price is 10 USD you will have 30 subscribers for a total of 300EUR. Transaction fees will be just 7.8EUR/USD + 9 EUR of fixed amount.
Also, 1000 subscribers will give either to the site and to the site owner a great number of opportunities subsequente sales, attracting customers to the service and platform.
An alternative proposal is to adopt a progessive rate instead of fixed amount. Change the transaction fee of 2.6% to 3.5, or 4.5… to compensate the lower value of the transaction but making this market possible.
