I have a couple questions, I watched some of the videos on the editorx website but am still quite confused.
1.) I use a very large screen. When I preview on “Desktop” my website is very large, will it fit smaller desktop screens? I understand breakpoints to a point but the editor does not seem to respect me setting the page width via sliders or resizing to say “1400px.”
2.) Is it possible to have a “coming soon” or “maintenance” page while I work on other pages? I would rather not work “live” on the internet.
Sorry if these have been answered but I could not find direct answers.
Welcome to Wix. As you open the Editor it will sense which screen size you are working with. Wix by default provides three breakpoints; Desktop, Tablet and Mobile. You will need to monitor your design as it migrates down the screen sizes. You can pull in the sides or type in a smaller viewport by typing in the width you wan to review. You can also add more breakpoints for more complicated design.
It is possible to make a page your temporary home page with a coming soon message. Click on the Pages icon in the tool bar and navigate to your temp page and click on the three dots and you will see the option to Make it your home page.
Hey, thanks. I’ll set the homepage. I guess I’ll just click desktop and design around that size for Desktop and go from there. You’re great. (and thank you for the welcome.)
