**I’m having trouble with a URL not live on the website. We’re doing updates and discovered this link “**https://www.solisrecruitment.com/executive-search/marketing-executive-recruitment.interested” It seems to have copied the Executive Search pillar. Any advice on why and how to remove it?
Site link
What I’m trying to do
Find out why the URL appeared and make it disappear
What I’ve tried so far
Searched my pages and can’t locate it
Can confirm the URL
I see you pasted /executive-search/marketing-executive-recruitment.interested” - which isn’t a valid URL - so I’m assuming you mean /executive-search/marketing-executive-recruitment
That said, I think the best way to check this is via the SEO settings in the site dashboard - Customizing Your SEO Settings | Help Center | Wix.com - you’ll be able to find the URL and then match it to the Page Name - which will make finding it in the editor easier
It appears when I click the URL. I picked it up in a SEO tool. I’ll check in the settings as you’ve suggested
Since it’s not a valid URL (it’ll default to the next part of the domain that is valid, which is /executive-search and why this page is loading).
Since it’s not in your sitemap, I strongly suspect this is a “ghost link” hidden somewhere on your site. It’s likely a typo in a button link or a hyperlinked piece of text (e.g., someone tried to link the word ‘interested’ but accidentally pasted it into the URL field).
To track it down:
-
Check your SEO Tool: Look for a ‘Referring Page’ or ‘Found At’ it might tell you exactly which live page contains that broken link
-
Search for the text: If the tool doesn’t say, you might need to manually review each page
