In light of the current pandemic, many restaurants and bars are seeking ways they can safely trade through social distancing and extended health and safety.
As such, I believe a great opportunity for businesses (and Wix) is to include a ‘Order to Table’ option within their restaurants online ordering system. This can be included by applying the additional option along with delivery and collection, to allow customers to input their table number and pay from their seat.
For this to work, I believe it would be a matter of speed to implement given growing pressure for companies to return to trade.

Please can this functionality be added ASAP.
We are having to look for alternate ‘order online’ providers who can offer this functionality, at an additional cost, that would mean leaving Wix. I believe this is a huge gap in the Wix marketplace that needs to be addressed, and would even increase your users as it is in huge demand at present (even a requirement by UK Government to trade during the pandemic).
It would be quite easy to add an additional ‘Order to Table’ selection along with ‘Collection’ and ‘Delivery’ options. This would simply need the customer to select or enter their table number, that would be displayed on the order print out.

I also urgently need this. Currently I’m using ‘Pick-Up’ in Wix restaurants and asking customers to note their table number in ‘Special Requests’ - All Wix Restaurants needs is replace mention of the words ‘Pick Up’ and ask for a table number as an extra field in the checkout - Or simply replace the phone number with table number

Almost a year on and still no support from Wix on this. I’ve managed to sort of get round it by adding the table number as a dish on the menu. It actually works reasonably well.
What we need is custom fields in the checkout and give us the option to remove reference to the word “pick-up”.

Is there any update on this at all? I suspect theres huge demand for this given the need to reduce contact at tables in restaurants.
I see that there’s been an update to the UI on restaurant orders which while cleaner and more user friendly, actually emphasises pick up or delivery which makes my current work-around for tables even tougher!

If the new UI changes are mandated across all Wix Order sites, I’m going to have to abandon using Wix.
Can you please consider adding table ordering? It really is not a stretch given the current set-up.
In the new UI;
Add a “Order to table” option instead of pick-up/delivery
In the “Delivery method” section in the check-out, simply have a list of tables (that can be customised)
In the management dashboard populate the table number instead of the time.
