Discussion:
The Pro Galleries have become frustratingly difficult to adjust the size of the thumbnails. I understand that responsiveness require a certain logic and methodology but the item sizing/dimension should not be made so dependent on its parent section or container.
I wish there was a way we could control the sizing of the items as the primary adjustment setting as well as making them independent which can be made a collage or complete square given your settings. Then the gallery can scale as it is set up if you desire so.
Spacing between images, the height of the section or the gallery the style of the gallery type all influencing the thumbnails every time there is an adjustment made make this tool very difficult. A simple gallery tool with thumbnails that can be individually customized would make this tool much simpler yet hundred times more versatile for different purposes.
Hi! I believe I’m having the same issue of sorts. I have a lot of white space surrounding some photos in my gallery on both mobile and desktop and I can’t find any way to adjust it. Did you find a solution to resize images to fix your issues, or was there another way you found to input your gallery? Thanks in advance to anyone with answers.
Hey Nicole.
Unfortunately, the gallery plug in remains to be unnecessarily difficult to have a simple layout to look good.
You’ll need to to work with the width of the gallery (I recommend not using the stretch mode and sticking with pixel or % if available). Then you also need to modify the spacing of thumbnails as well as the amount of thumbnails displayed in a row. Then adjust this for different viewpoints. That being said, how you want images shown; cropped or full, will also be a factor in fixing the settings properly.
Considering how Wix advertises easily created websites on YouTube all day long, this very basic and common feature (gallery) for any website project should be made 10 times more easy.
Hey SCW. Thank you so much for your reply! I appreciate you taking the time. I agree. It should be much more user friendly. Seems like a simple feature that somehow got overcomplicated. Anyway, I hope you’ve achieved what you’re looking to create on your site!
