Problems with translated website by Editor X

Hi Experts,

I used the auto-translate feature of Editor X in order to translate my website from German to English. Unfortunately, several pictures have not been transferred to the English website. Did you experience similar problems? How can I avoid this for future translation (e.g. in French language).

Furthermore, the translation by google translate are very poor - is there an opportunity to use deeply for automated translation?

Thank you & best regards
Ekkehard

Hi,

  1. I’d suggest moving away from machine translations such as Google Translate or Deepl and work with a localisation specialist in the languages you need.
  2. Workflow: it is best to download the English text to allow a real (human!) translator to localise it tjhrough a translation memory (ie, it’ll flag up any repetitions to help with consistency, whereas the Editor only goes through each phrase with no regard for whether or not it’s been used elsewhere in your site). Then upload it back to see it in your web pages, but that’s absolutely not the end of the process. The translator will need to proofread the site in-situ, feedback on any issues, localise the img alt tags etc… and potentially work with you on a regular basis to carry on translating any new content.

(I can help with the French translation, by the way.)
