Roundup: New design for the Product Roadmap & CMS Expressions

This week we introduced CMS expressions - a new way to display data on a site, allowing you to combine static text with dynamic values from collection fields in a single string of text.

We also made the New design for the Product Roadmap available to all, shared a range of updates coming to the Wix Studio community, and held our latest Expert Drop session.

Keep up to date and take a read

News & Announcements

  • Use CMS expressions to manipulate text strings
    CMS expressions are here!

You can use CMS expressions to present data on a site in new ways. Expressions allow you to combine static text with dynamic values from collection fields in a single string of text. With expressions, you can:

    • Merge content from multiple fields into a collection
    • Control how dates and times are formatted on a live site
    • Apply formatting to numbers such as currency or percentages
    • Perform calculations based on different Number field types and/or static numbers
    • Add logical functions to create conditional statements, filter data and more.

Learn more about what can be achieved with expressions here.

  • Wix Media improvements - Upload from another Wix site
Based on a suggestion shared in the community, we’ve added some improvements when uploading media from another Wix site.

You can now search folders and files, sort and switch between gallery and list views for site folders, and filter by media types.

Hi
Nice the cms expression
I have a question
I am new here
Is it possible to create pages out of cms and use some of the data out of the cms in that page
I give an example
I want to create a list with al kind of cities in a cms
Can i do something that for each city in the cms that wix create automaticly a page with seo
And on that page I want to add automaticly on certain places the name of that certain city of the page
Thanks for helping me

Agreed! I love it :purple_heart: Are you using it on any sites yet?

@Sylvie_De_Smet You sure can. This article about Dynamic Pages should help - CMS: About Dynamic Pages | Help Center | Wix.com. If you have any follow up questions, be sure to ask in Ask the community

Yess of course, right after you posted it. Currently I’m trying to get rid of all the (now) unnecessary code. Maybe even optimize some page loading speeds? these are the features we developers need, since it dramatically reduces the time taken for rather simple tasks like that. I’m excited to see what additions there will be to this feature…
