How can I design the idea of a seamless header picture?

What are you trying to achieve:
I would like to create a header picture for every subpage that seamlessly goes until the top and even under the menu. See my attached files in this post. Unfortunately I am not able to create this effect since the image (which is its own section) won’t go underneath the section of the menu. The menu section already has no solid color and is set to transparency 0%. I suppose the answer is not that hard but I didn’t find the right solution.
