[Shop] Incorrect product sorting when filtering by category

Question:
Background:

  1. I have recently updated my shop to the new Categories Page system.
  2. I have $USD (American) and $CAD (Canadian) products, and I need both groups to appear on separate shop pages.
  3. $USD and $CAD products are identical but have different pricing based on a set price list – pricing is not auto-converted.
  4. Therefore all products have been duplicated in the back-end and assigned to mirror categories – ex. “Fuel (USD)” and “Fuel (CAD)”.

I have painstakingly organized my 500+ shop products into their own Categories, and within each category, arranged them from most important to least important (i.e. devices-to-accessories).

The $USD shop works great (using the new Categories Page model), but to create a $CAD version, my only option seems to be creating a regular page, adding a shop grid, and applying a Sort that filters out all $USD products.

Problem:
The organization within categories on the $CAD page disappears and I cannot sort by “recommended”. So all my $CAD products are jumbled.

What are you trying to achieve:
I need a $USD shop and an indentical $CAD shop.

I need each to appear on their own page and each category within automatically organized by “recommended”.

What have you already tried:

  • I migrated to the new Category page system.
  • Set up a $USD shop which works great.
  • $CAD, since I cannot duplicate the Category page, I created a regular page and added a Shop Grid. This grid allows me to filter only $CAD products which is good, but does not maintain category organization – resulting in a jumbled catalog. I cannot sort these sections by “recommended” like I can with the $USD page.

If you need clarification, please let me know.
I really hope we can find a solution.

To create separate shop pages for $USD and $CAD products while preserving the category organization and sorting, consider structuring your setup with a filtering system or database-driven approach. Duplicate or mimic the category layout for each currency and assign products accordingly. Use filters or dynamic content tools to segregate products by currency while maintaining consistent sorting rules. If native tools fall short, custom coding with Wix Velo can help replicate desired functionalities.

To create separate shop pages for $USD and $CAD products while preserving the category organization and sorting, consider structuring your setup with a filtering system or database-driven approach.

What does “or database-driven approach.” mean here?

Duplicate or mimic the category layout for each currency and assign products accordingly. Use filters or dynamic content tools to segregate products by currency while maintaining consistent sorting rules.

This is already done.

If native tools fall short, custom coding with Wix Velo can help replicate desired functionalities.

What custom code - can you direct me to an example?
