Hi I was wandering if someone could help out a complete non-coder/simpleton. I am required by EU Law (GDPR) to gain explicit consent from users of my website in order to use things like facebook pixel, google analytics and other cookies to track events and habits for marketing purposes. I have found a free service ‘cookiebot’ and have set it up on their website to my liking, they’ve now asked me to do 2 things: “Copy this script to the html header of your website template to enable the consent banner” and “Insert this script in the html of the subpage where you want to show the cookie declaration in full” . Could someone please talk me through the steps for doing so as I am lost! I have the two separate scripts and a ‘privacy policy/cookie declaration’ page but no idea where to actually paste the scripts on my editor/developer screen, many thanks, Sam
I have been asking for cookie consent options for several months in the feature request section, yes I know it’s a “feature” to comply with European law…
To date I have not received a solution from wix, which leads me to believe that it is not possibly to disable cookies on the wix platform and comply with the applicable legislation.
Oh dear! I don’t know if I am comfortable breaking GDPR laws, and I definitely need to collect data via cookies. Just wish I had known before I spent MANY hours creating a website with Wix. Sounds like I might have to start again elsewhere
And there I was thinking it would just be a simple process! Thanks for the info Mike

In regards to the html script that you want to add you can add a html component (iframe) to your wix page then paste in the code you got from cookie bot. Note all live site requests made from html components come from fileusr.com they do not come from your website domain.
