I am experiencing an issue with the webpage loading speed where it can take 17-25 seconds to load a home page with only one widget. Can anyone give me any suggestions as to how to approach optimising this? Thanks. www.ajiaj.com
Hi Alan,
You only have site code, and you have no code on your home page. You also have a number of errors in your site code:
I would advise fixing all errors since the errors might be the reason for slow loading.
Also, site code is only recommended for those items that are global to the site - that is, code that is applicable to each and every page. You should organize your code by page code and site code . This will improve the maintainability of your code, and will most likely speed up load time.
Good luck,
Yisrael
Hi Yisrael,
Thank you very much for taking the time to review my website. I have now fixed the errors in the page. Currently, I have only used the site code for the header which applies to every page. However, there seems to have no demonstrable speed improvement. Do you have any other suggestions as to how to improve it?
Thank you again for your time.
Kindest regards,
Alan
Hey Alan,
Glad to hear that helped. Depending on what your site, the post We’re Getting Faster: Learn How to Get Your Site Ready might have some useful techniques for you to use. These techniques have to do with determining the stage of rendering (frontend vs backend), but you might find some of them useful. If not now, maybe at some later stage.
All the best,
Yisrael
Thank you Yisrael. I have taken note of your advice. I also look forward to server side rendering when it rolls out for full size webpages.
Dear Yisrael, I hope this message finds you well. I have a separate issue with regards to the table being stuck in loading. I wonder if you would be able to assist me in spotting the problem for me? Thank you very much for your time! Your help is much appreciated
