Sorting Database In Repeater

Hi
I am seeing this question elsewhere but there is no obvious fix. We have a database of Church Services which are supposed to use a dataset which will enable a repeater to sort them in the order of occurrence - most recent to oldest.

I have inserted a numeric value Sort Index to act as a sorting key

But the displayed data always displays in creation data order which is not always correct.

Can anyone please advice whether there is a bug in Wix or am I missing something totally obvious ?
The Sandbox and the Live Databases are synced and there is no filtering.

Many thanks for any suggestions or advice. This is a critical cosmetic problem for us.

Clive

Are you using any code? If so, then please post here as you might have a conflict between the code and the use of the dataset.

If you are not using code, for questions that are not related to code you can contact Wix Customer Care . You’ll get better help for your problem there.

Also, please refrain from multiple posts on the same question.

I apologise that I did not make clear that the organisation is not using any custom code, only the built-in tools. To be honest I didn’t know where to put this to get it picked up since as a retired University Computer Science Lecturer and Computer Auditor, I believe I am following the manufacturer’s instructions to the letter without success which means that I am doing what my students used to do and am missing something blatantly obvious, or there is a bug in the code and I am wasting my time.

Re multiple posts, I am not finding this site the easiest to navigate to find answers. I will drop a line to Customer Care as well but I was really hoping that I had simply missed doing something and made some common mistake (like connecting to the wrong instance in Oracle)

WixData (MongoDB under the hood), not Oracle.

So, as I understand it, you are not using code. The dataset should properly sort the results.

While you’re waiting for Customer Care, maybe I can take a peek. Please post the editor URL of your site. Only authorized Wix personnel can get access to your site in the editor. Please include the name of the page involved.

Thanks

What page?

Is it the Worship Resources page? If so, you have two datasets on that page but the Repeater is not connected to the one that sorts by the index field.

Yes it is the online page
And the solution was trivially stupid - the original page author, who was not me, had put a second link in without removing the first one. I have reconnected the second link and the page is now running beautifully.

So - thank you to you and

to my colleague
Thank you for your eagle eyes
I’ll close the Customer Services call and humble myself before the support team

Every good wish
Clive

No sweat. Glad I could help.
