Terrible load times despite using out of the box template despite optimization? What's going on with Wix?

Hi, I have a business plan and the google pagespeed rating is an abysmal 11.

Google says this is mostly due to unused javascript and main thread work according to google page speed. I seems incomprehensible that using a wix template, with a few changes would be this bad?

I have followed all the steps to optimize:

  • Image optimization

  • Reduce font count to two

  • Set caching

  • Remove animations

  • Remove apps (I only have a mailchimp app)

Is this a known issue?

I have the same issue with google insights. Its something I was going to tackle more further. I havent yet optimize for SEO. But after reading your post, I have also send a ticket to customer care.

[EDIT] Check that there are two insights, the mobile version, and the laptop version. For me, the laptop version is way better than the mobile. Still, I contacted customer care.
