Transactional Emails with ability to connect to Workflows

It would be amazing if we could control our consumer experience by easily creating transactional emails, connect them to databases, run scheduled emails and be triggered by workflows.

For instance, if a user is added to a stage in a workflow, the data from the collection item that the user is referenced to is pulled into the email and sent to the user. While the user is in that workflow, they will another email the next week or when there is a change to the collection item.
