Trying to set different images per row on computer view vs tablet view

I’ve got some galleries that I want to be viewed at 3 images per row on a computer and 2 images per row on a tablet. I thought if I just went into the tablet view and changed it to 2 images that would be that (as I thought the changes cascaded down, but didn’t affect anything above). But, when I change the images per row in the tablet view, the computer view also changes. It’s letting me change the number of imags per row in the mobile view, so I’m not sure why the tablet won’t also accept different settings.

Is there something I need to do to break the tablet view from the computer view so I can use different settings?

This question was asked a year ago, but the issue still stands. I’ve tried to get around it by hiding my desktop gallery and adding a new gallery to the tablet + mobile pages, but when I do so it changes the desktop view as well. Breakpoints should only cascade downwards. Has anyone found a workaround? I need to figure this out in order to take the site live, which I need to do by EOD.
