I uploaded a font (Calibri) and theres dots above the text and weird speckles. When I zoom in, it disappears. When I make the font bigger, other weird inconsistencies start happening as well. Does anyone know whats causing this?
I got it from sharefonts.net, but this problem also appeared when I uploaded a font called IBM Plex Sans which I got from Google fonts.
I think that might be the problem. Thank you!
This forum is for code related issues on your website and not for font issues, that should go through Wix Support.
However, as for those fonts, they are Truetype fonts and should all be displaying fine on whatever device you are using to view it on.
I have just tested the download and it is all fine on my own device.
After downloading Calibri and extracting the files from the zip, have you uploaded all the supplied fonts for Calibri and not just one of them, as each of the supplied font files correspond to each of the different variety of the type face itself.
So one font file will be regular, one will be bold, one will be italic, one will be semi-bold, one will be light and so on.
So if you just uploaded the one font file, say the regular version and then choose italic or bold in the Wix Editor, then it will either not allow that to be shown or display a substitute.
Try doing the same with other fonts that were already supplied through the Wix Editor, if they are showing correctly without any bitmapping, then you need to go back to the downloaded font files and make sure that you have uploaded all of them.
Hello, thanks for the help. Other fonts do look fine. It’s only the fonts I’ve downloaded which are speckling. I uploaded all the TrueType fonts but it still looks the same. I also checked it by opening the ttf file on my computer, and they seem to look fine. It seems like it’s only wix specific now that I look at it.
