I’m having trouble with
We have a home screen with text overlayed on-top of an image.
It looks identical on multiple computers using Windows 11. When those same computers are rebooted into Ubuntu 24.04 and 25.10, using latest Chrome and Firefox browsers, even same accounts on those browsers, the text over the background image looks different. Same font but different background image position; slightly off but very noticeable. This is odd. 110% zoom on Ubuntu, the background image and text are aligned more closely with Windows at 100% zoom in the browsers. Same screen resolutions and browsers, including browser height (i.e. hiding/showing bookmark bar makes no difference). Unlike a mobile phone, Firefox and Chrome are running their own rendering engines.
It could be a difference in the fonts used but I assume Wix is embedding non-standard web fonts in the website?
Working in
e.g. Wix Studio Editor, Wix Editor, Dev Mode, CMS, etc.
Wix Editor
Site link
If this is happening on a site, include a live or test site link
We cannot include a live test site link at this time, it is not ready for public consumption and we would need permission from the client to do so.
What I’m trying to do
Describe the goal or outcome you’re hoping for
Does Wix, by default, embed the font in the website? Are there other similar issues with Wix rendering differently on Windows vs. Mac vs. Linux?
Tried installing the Google Cormorant Garamond font family in Ubuntu.
What I’ve tried so far
Let us know what you’ve already tested, changed, or searched
We are only exploring possible reasons, concerned about how it might look on a Mac.
