Using Lighthouse (by Google) to run a site report on live Wix sites...

I’ve recently used Lighthouse (by Google) to run a site report and got a POOR performance score.

The contributing factors (below) seem to be mostly fixed issues with Wix and out of my control, although I hope I am wrong… Any help with the following would be awesome please…

Preload Key requests
Serving images in next gen formats; JPEG 2000, JPEG XR, and WebP
Defering off screen images
Minimizing main tread work
Ensure text remains visible during webfont load
Reduce the impact of third-party code
Reduce JavaScript execution time
Serve static assets with an efficient cache policy
Buttons do not have an accessible name
Form elements do not have associated labels
Links do not have a discernible name
Browser errors were logged to the console
Web app manifest does not meet the installability requirements

Hello there! In order to have an accurate measure of your site’s performance, as Wix sites are built differently from most HTML sites, you can use this tool https://support.wix.com/en/article/about-the-wix-speed-test

Thans Sheyla, that’s great  I was still hoping to shed some more ‘light’ on Google’s tool as they are heavily reliant on those scores when ranking sites

Just to add … using the wix speed test doesnt really address the issues flagged by Lighthouse, although Caching each site page has made a small improvement
Do Wix post in these forums too? Would be great to get some help from the team too?

So, after such an overwhelming response (haha!), I thought I’d ask Wix directly through submitting a ‘ticket’, and here’s what they had to say;

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Wix.
I understand that you are concerned about the score you received from Google PageSpeed Insights. It is important to note that the issue, in this particular case, is related to misinterpretation first and foremost. PageSpeed Insights models low-end devices and network conditions to estimate site performance. The score is derived from that estimation.
According to our records, the majority of Wix site visitors - all over the world - have significantly better technical specifications. As such, the scoring a site gets from PageSpeed Insights does not always correspond with the way it performs live.
While it is possible to use PageSpeed Insights to check site performance, a more practical way to evaluate it would be loading it on your end. If you personally experience poor loading time, please feel free to get back to us and provide us with more information about the issue. We will be happy to further assist you.
Moreover, we are aware of this matter and we are working towards a solution. We have also engaged directly with Google to ensure that Wix sites are properly analyzed.
Since Google implemented their evaluation technology, we have made several changes that help to improve performance. We have also not found indications that this implementation significantly impacts site ranking on Google search results.
Please let us know if we can assist you further.

Have a great day,
