When a row is added to google sheets, add a row to a collection

Hello,

Is there a way to do the above?

I already worked with “google integration package” and am able to retrieve information from google sheets and display on my page.

However, what I am looking for is this:

Trigger:
a new row added to google sheets
Action
a row is added to WIX database

The WIX automation only uses triggers FROM WIX… I need the trigger to be from Google Sheets.

Unfortunately, Wix automations currently don’t support triggers from external sources like Google Sheets. However, you can achieve the desired functionality using a third-party integration service like Zapier.

Here’s how it would work:

  1. Connect Zapier: Create an account on Zapier (https://zapier.com/).
  2. Set Up Zap: In Zapier, create a new Zap. Choose Google Sheets as the trigger app and select “New Row in Spreadsheet” as the trigger event.
  3. Specify Spreadsheet: Connect your Google Sheet and specify the specific spreadsheet and worksheet where rows will be added.
  4. Action App: Choose Wix as the action app.
  5. Action: Select the action “Create Item in Database Collection.”
  6. Map Fields: Zapier will allow you to map the data from the new Google Sheet row to the corresponding fields in your Wix database collection.
  7. Test & Activate: Test your Zap to ensure it transfers data correctly. Once satisfied, activate the Zap.

Now, whenever a new row is added to your Google Sheet, Zapier will automatically trigger the Zap, creating a corresponding new row in your Wix database collection.

I did try Zapier prior to asking the question (since I have worked with it before updating Google Sheets from Excel), but for some reason when I choose WIX as TO (Sheets to WIX), it does not show me any events.

I tried searching for a solution/reason but did not find any as of yet.

If you have any insight that would be wonderful.

Just got a response back from Zapier.
They do not have that available.

(updating wix from zapier).

How disappointing:(
