Why can't I see the actual code any longer. I need to remove a snippet that a scammy 3rd party embedded?

I’m having trouble with changing a snippet of code that a 3rd party SEO company added to get into our Google Search Cosole account. I used to be able to see the actual code a few years ago, but now Wix won’t let me even view it in Developer Mode so that I can remove it. I am supposed to change the part that begins with:

<meta name=“google-site-verification” content="
I’ve tried everything and all I can do it view the add ons. When I view the add ons, I have no idea if there’s one that this horrible SEO company placed that would allow them to have access to my Google console account. I’ve already removed them as a site owner directly on Google Search Console but AI says I also need to remove the code they embedded because they can still access the console until I remove the code. Here are the options that show what has been embedded. Which one includes what they did? (I am not a programmer. I am a designer, so please explain technical terms like you are talking to a 14 year old.)

Google Analytics, local business schema, GA4 Code (G-L85VDERQE0), Even Tracking Script (apply on all pages).

The most likely place scripts like this are added is in the Custom Code found in the site dashboard.

You’ll find it under Site Dashboard> Settings> Custom Code. Once there, review anything that might have been added, and remove it.

The other place is in Dev mode on the site. You’ll find it in the site itself> Dev mode at the top> Enable> Then use the search icon on the left side where the dev tools are, and search for any code you might want to find and remove

I tried both recommendations. No luck.

I think AI on Google gave me that ‘remove code’ thing. Thanks so much for easing my mind.
