Wix Apps | Other Events | Google Analytics & Adwods Tracking

Yep. Per the earlier comment about the shortcomings of Wix Bookings, I gave up on it and now have a wonderful product called Acuity, which has its own GA integration as well as a host of other advantages. Won’t go into it here as itsi off topic and honestly I’m still not sure how good the event click tracking is in Acuity, but yeah, really hope Wix does this soon and hopefully in a not-too-code-intensive way.

Yep, but then again, I did my digging and found few tools out there that did this nicely. Most redirect you to their own domains and subdomains at some point which disrupts the need very much so. I only get to see how many people exited there and entered from there and I will not get useful data besides that. Now, that Acuity is interesting, because it is the first tool I hear that has its own GA integration. And is it an advanced integration? Ie, event based or thank you page based like how Wix used to have it limited back in the day…

Thanks Omid for pointing me at Acuity, I will explore it! Is there an email provider that has a GA integration when you use it with Wix. Here’s what Contact Collection wrote to me the other day:

" Well other platforms have different implementations of Mailchimp. When it comes to Wix, apps are built inside iframes. So when you see our app inside your page it is actually still loaded from our domain, I can see how that will create a problem with using Google analytics and make it hard to implement.
That’s why i said we will have to look into it. It will be a bit tricky and having bad data is just as bad as having no data.
Maybe in the future Wix will build an API that will allow the apps talk to the main analytics system the site is using, but they will have to build it as we don’t have access to the main website. Apps are stuck inside the iframe.

You are actually the second user to have ever asked us about analytics (the app is currently live on a few thousands of websites)
We will be building a statistics system in the future so you can see how many subscribers you had from each widget, but you’re right that info will not be linked into the overall visitors on your website.

I guess most people operate small websites on Wix.
The only solution I can see at the moment to help you calculate conversion rates is export the list of subscribers you have and use the added date for the subscribers to understand how many subscriber subscribe every day. Then on GA look at the amount of unique users for that time period.
Not ideal… some manual work involved but it will give you a good indication of your conversion rate when it comes to email subscribers. "

Hi Robert and Gennadiy,

We are working on adding conversion events to Wix Bookings and Get Subscribers - you should expect both live soon (few weeks). Additionally, you can report custom events directly from Wix Code - see here:

Hope this helps,

Sarig

Hi
For now live to all Premium users is the recieve the full business funnel of:
WiX Stores - All Events + Values + Content ID
WiX Contact Form - Lead Event
Get Subscribers - Lead Event

It’s available automatically once you add Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics and Also as a data layer on Google Tag Manager.

WiX Booking will be available in few weeks as well.

As mention before on the thread you can use track.event API to set custom events

Eagerly awaiting Wix Booking analytics tracking. Can you post an update here to let us know as soon as it’s live?

Kobi, Can you please elaborate a bit. Where is the business funnel available automatically? Am I creating events with track.event API?

Hi, As I shared with you. For now we have full business funnel events build in (Ecom, Contact Form) on Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel and Google Tag Manager. Booking vertical will be available in few weeks

Kobi, are you talking about the funnel described here (It’s about Google Analytics):

I am struggling to come up with my next step. I am a GA custom tracking beginner. Trying to track the email signups on OneBeforeEscape.com

Toda!

For email signup it’s straight forward. You have build in “lead” event in Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Facebook Pixel Tracking for every visitor who submit an email in your Get Subscriber Form

why are you mentioning GA and FB and GTM - must I use all 3? Is this the process:

Not at all, it’s up to you. You have the events available on all platform. If you don’t do facebook campaigns you don’t need it on the FB pixel. If your main analytics tool is GA so you have it there. Share what you are trying to do / measure and how and I’ll do my best to make sure you understand what need to be done

Thanks so much. It’s very kind of you, a mitzvah

I want to start running a display campaign to drive traffic to my site - it will be coming from several different publisher sites. i did not launch the escape room yet, so all the site visitors can do is subscribe (email). I want to track GA/Conversions/Multi-Channel Funnels for those subscribe events. the questions I want to answer is: Which publisher is best at driving those subscribe conversions, what combinations of other channels are contributing to those conversions?

Thank you again, Kobi. Regards to Dan Bar Shalom from Gamliel (I worked with him at LivePerson).

Kobi, can I give you any other info? I am really confused what kind of GTM trigger I could use here. I guess I am not sure what you mean by a “lead event” in Google Analytics…

Ah, now I see it! It’s in GA/Behavior/Events

Any update on when Wix Bookings conversion tracking will be available? Happy to sign up for a beta to get earlier access/test it out.

Chris,
I love your persistence, it’s in QA. Stay tuned will be live soon

May 20th post says booking track event will go live in a few weeks. It is now July 20. Any new updates?

I really need this wix-window-frontend - Velo API Reference - Wix.com to work with bookings and I also need to know my abandonment rates etc. Right now I am operating absolutely blindly on these things. This involves 2 production environments. If you need beta testers I sign up!

Omid,
Glad you follow and willing to see this integration live. We’re in QA phase. I’ll make sure once we’ve open for beta to include you

Kobi, glad to see yall are keeping with it.

And you ought to know by now… I do not just follow. I generate, then do the dogged.
See I know I am trouble for yall  haha
