Wix Storefront UX – Is It Possible to Let Customers Choose Display Options?

1. Can customers choose how many products are displayed per page in the Wix storefront (e.g. 8, 16, 50, 100 items)?

2. Is it possible for customers to change the product view layout in the frontend – for example, switch between list view, small thumbnails, or large grid view (similar to folder views in Windows)?

3. Can customers filter or sort products based on availability – for example, show only “In Stock”, “Preorder”, or “Out of Stock” items?

I’m having trouble with
My customers have been asking for more flexibility when browsing our Wix online store.
We currently offer over 5,000 books, and around 200 new titles are added every month.
With such a large and growing catalog, it would be extremely helpful if customers could customize how products are displayed – for example by choosing how many items they see per page, switching between grid and list views, or filtering by availability (in stock / preorder / sold out).

The Wix Stores product category page does indeed have very limited sorting options. There is no way to natively let users ‘switch’ between different views or sort and show products in the way you’ve mentioned.

That being said, everything you’ve asked for can be built using custom code with Wix Velo. With this you can build your own custom category page and have complete control over the layouts, filters / sorts etc to achieve your desired functionality.
