Are there others out there that simply cannot stand Wix Studio?
I used wix wayyyyy back when EditorX and Studio weren’t involved. The classic wix editor wasn’t slow and cascaded down across varying breakpoints. I white label with a client who builds some of her sites in Wix Studio and holy frick Wix Studio has officially become my most hated platform.
For context - I’m a UX Designer who develops out websites. The primary platforms I use are Wordpress and Webflow, WixStudio is an unfortunate add.
I’m writing this in hopes the team at Wix will roll out a new update and keep these items in mind -

Slow Editor Speed. It takes on average between 5 - 20 seconds for something to be moved. That time adds up when you’re building multiple sites. Not to mention, the changes take hours to propagate to a staging link (which I’ve never experienced previously).
-
More often than not, the changes in the editor (while show as saved in the editor) don’t show in the live site. This means I get to play a fun guessing game of “if I add this padding here will it fix the issue”. Because the issue doesn’t show in the editor, just the live.

The auto docking feature is DREADFUL. Why do I need to adjust the docking to each item, and why on earth is there an auto dock of a negative value - causing overlaps.
-
When I go to change one item, it messes with that items neighbor - even though I just fixed that item.

The mobile optimization is truly embarrassing. Most editors would cascade the design down intuitively - if you have two columns, the mobile would translate to two rows. Minor edits are of course needed to make sure the mobile side is optimized for the user, but wix simple shrinks everything down. So two columns, remains two columns and the font becomes 4px and completely not readable.
-
Additionally, editing the size of the rows or columns is insane. More often than not I can’t edit the max h or max w - and their units are limited to pixels and vh/vw - which also auto translates back to pixels.
Frankly I could go on and on - this editor would seriously benefit from a true web developers perspective and a user experience designer. As is, this editor feels like it was made without any working knowledge of the web.
