There are so many features that are released each week it’s hard to keep up so I’ve compiled the latest 5 SEO features that were released.
1: URL Customization (currently opened to 100% english)
You will now have the ability to customize the URL structure, providing the freedom to fully customize the default URL structure and adjust it based on your own preferences. Currently open to product and blog pages, you can now customize subdirectory names, edit, remove or add a prefix to URLs and even create a completely flat URL structure. Wix also automatically takes care of updating sitemaps, creating 301 redirects for all impacted URLs and updating canonical and other relevant meta tags.

2: Bot Log Reports (Open to all geos)
Analyzing log data is crucial for site owners to better understand bot activity and the ways in which to better optimize a site, but extracting and analyzing this crucial information can be extremely tedious. To date, the only way for an SEO or site creator to access and analyze this abundant amount of information is to manually extract the data from the site hosting provider, usually supplied in a very raw form, and then use an analyzer software to visualize and understand the data.
Wix is unveiling a new set of reports that will enable youto closely monitor bot activity on their site, continuing the advancement of Wix’s SEO capabilities. As the first closed CMS to offer visualization of log files, Wix Analytics Reports will now include a new SEO section with three new reports visualizing log data - Bot Traffic Over Time , Bot Traffic by Page and Response Status Over Time . Saving you the hassle of other analyzer tools, the reports will help them enhance their SEO by enabling them to easily identify technical issues and improve crawling distribution in real time, all from the Wix platform.
By analyzing the data you can better understand how bots interact with the website from various perspectives and at what frequency. You can subscribe to schedule reports for convenience, helping to understand the general volume of bot visits and their response code and answer business and technical questions leading to enhanced SEO including:
-
Identifying pages with errors such as 404 / 500 and understanding the volume and frequency
-
Locating pages that are not being crawled often
-
Identifying static resources that are being crawled too much
-
Helping you understand which bots crawl the website and at what frequency
These reports are another step in helping you optimize the SEO workflow .
