As per subject above, I am still evaluating the limitations of Editor X.
I am quite surprised that as we’re already approaching 3/4 of 2022 ~ there is no official guide on Wordpress imports to Editor X apart from relying on the Wix module.
And So far I am finding major limitations predominantly thus far on Wordpress migration .
-
Right now ~ the only way to import Wordpress blog is to use the built in (Wix) widget/ module. Whilst the available options to adjust the blog feeds (the landing) appears okay diversity and options wise, the actual post detail page option are severely limited. I cannot adjust post canvas, its width, layouts, etc, everything appears limited to Wix’s own widget module.
-
I cannot find a way so far how to even include the feature post image in the post detail. None of the official documents I can find so far on Editor X showed me how to go about doing this.
-
Wordpress CSV manual content > Manual data set images connection to an Editor X image widget does not work. Whilst this method indeed allow custom layouts possibilities for both Blog feeds and each posts detail pages ~ however for some reason I cannot connect any image with the actual imported Wordpress CSV data at all.
Other things I noted / would love to see help on:
-
Editor X for some reason doesn’t save things properly. Both on chrome and safari have these problems. Especially when making Wix built-in blog setting changes ~ styles don’t save properly despite repeated saves and publish(s) attempts.
-
Some context buttons (upload buttons, files etc) doesn’t work on Safari.
-
Strangely ~ I can no longer edit my master site headers! I went to “masters” ~ and clicking on “Edit” ~ and I expect to be able to edit as it says. But no, I cannot make any changes. None at all.
These are only surface frustrations and limitations, not accounting other bugs I am witnessing and severe performance issues.
I am grateful for anyone to enlighten me as to how and/or workarounds above. My aim is to establish a split screen style blog detail layout from imported Wordpress CSV, if that is not too difficult to ask.
Any advise would be appreciated. Apologies if these has been discussed elsewhere.
regards,
Andrew.
