Worthless Question

Was about to spend a bunch of money on tutorial cards for products I’m selling. These cards would include a special code that allows the customer to access a private page on my website.

I just saw that Editor X is not allowing the codes I’ve created because they contain special characters. Why in the world is this the case? In matters of security, I find it incredibly odd I should not be able to include special characters.

I’m just thankful I discovered this before losing a bunch of money.

this is Wix Permissions tools, which was originally used in Wix Editor, the settings are the same for both creation platforms, I can understand your feelings in this case, I would feel the same 100% , from our side we will forward your feedback to the relevant team, who is working on the permissions tools

Thanks. Any idea when this will be resolved? We get a lot of, “we’ll forward your feedback” responses and never hear anything back. I haven’t at least, and while I appreciate that the feedback gets forwarded, this response often feels like a cop-out.

I hear you about the communication and not to defend it but I always try to make my passwords longer rather than complex as it’s more secure. Bots can more quickly crack a “complex” password like Password123! than something like mypasswordforthispageispassword even though the latter is only alphabetical characters since it takes more time to try these combinations. Plus it has the added benefit of being easier to remember than something like 9*T5(sp9/q< .

Many places nowadays require that your password contain a special character. It’s annoying, but I get it.

Why special characters aren’t allowed on Wix is still a question unanswered. I’m just glad I discovered it before dumping a bunch of money into these tutorial cards.

This feature is not designed for end user access I think.

Have you consider using Wix Members area + Wix pricing Plans + Wix Online Programs?

Certified Code Logo

Thanks for the option, @certifiedcode , perhaps in the future. But right now I have zero interest in paying more money for something I can barely get to work properly as it is.

@buckbowen You don’t need to pay more actually. It is Wix app where it already comes with Wix Business Premium.

@buckbowen Yes. That’s a good option as well and if you’re already have a premium plan to accept online payments this would be good. https://support.wix.com/en/article/wix-editor-creating-members-only-pages
