Best laptop for editing?

I’m using a powerful Windows laptop with Chrome and 32 GB of RAM, yet the Wix Studio editor feels very laggy and sometimes almost unusable.

What setup are you using, and how well does the editor run for you? I’m also considering switching to a MacBook with an M3 or M4 chip. Is anyone using a Mac, and if so, would you say it offers a significantly faster experience? I think that macbook is more efficent when using chrome ? Atm i have a lot of tabs open therefore i am using 8gb ram atm.

I’d love for the editor to perform as smoothly as other tools I use, like Figma or Webflow.

Product:
Wix Studio

What are you trying to achieve:
A smooth, lag-free editing experience.

What have you already tried:
I’ve tried closing additional tabs and reducing RAM usage by other software.

Additional information:
My current Windows PC handles most other tasks effortlessly, so this issue seems specific to the Wix Studio editor.

I use a M1 iMac and also a M1 MacMini, both 8Gb RAM. Chrome browser but keep open tabs to a minimum. Not experienced any performance issues in 3 years using Editor X & now Studio. I work in Studio for 6-8 hours per day.

I don’t think the issue is the computer. I use a very old Lenovo B50-80 core i5 with 16GB of RAM. I have used this to build all my websites and I still do up to date. I can’t edit videos on it or do some things I want to do but WIX runs good thus far.

PS: I did a clean install of Windows the other day to give it a few more months of life.

You may be having plugins that are slowing down your browser, broken drivers, SSD might be out of space etc. Try a clean install of Windows.

Thank you all i guees it is die to cpu and m processors are usually handling it well. i gues i will have to try it out. but good news to me that it can run very smooth

I use a M1 Mac, and Safari.

Wix Editor. Is a buggy as sh—, If I leave tabs open they can after time start to use a lot of energy. And the page gives warnings or all tabs just blank out and I have to reload.
This can happen randomly when editing and very often.

The issue afaik is not the Machine , but something to do with what wix editor is doing and throwing errors with browser engines. In my case Safari’s web-kit.
