#WixBeta
Want better notifications? Want more for ALL YOUR SITES? OH yeah. It’s here. @yaara-misholi Opened this one for us. =)
Link to Beta: (coming soon)
Beta Description:
Other than its new sleek design, the new notifications widget brings special value for experts in particular because it allows the user to get notifications from all of their sites in one place. Before, we had to go into each site’s dashboard in order to see the site’s notifications.
It is also the first time we will show the notifications widget on Site List, so that notifications are available right as you enter Wix.com .
Possibility to have the notifications order by categories too.
For example : Wix Store notifications, Wix Booking notifications, …
Special notifications for Experts coming from the Experts dashboard, for example when there is a new feature announces like this great one or something new in “News & Ressources” part.
I posted this also in the FB-group; Although it can be (and it is!) useful, I’m curious about privacy (GDPR?) etc. I do not want to know, see and read messages from visitors of all sites that I have designed or for which I contribute. And I do not think that visitors want to have their messages read by a simple web designer, especially when you talk about confidential information.
Thank you for this feedback! I’m happy to say that we are rolling this feature out together with a Notifications Settings page, which we’d love for you guys to test as well-- as early as we can make it available. You can expect it in a couple of weeks
Thank you. Michiel! The Notifications Settings page will be ready for you guys to try soon-- it will enable you to mute the notifications you don’t want to see. While it will not keep you out of your clients’ Inbox, it will prevent private messages from popping up in your notifications feed, if you choose to mute them.
@yaara-misholi Thank you Yaara. But still I’m able to see and read the messages if I want too, like now by going to the Inbox if clients. Wouldn’t be an idea to add an extra switch at the Roles & Permissions-page for the Admin-role where you can now switch off the possibility to publish a site by a contributor. Add a switch to turn on/off the access for a contributor to the Inbox, including a little note like; by turning on your contributor have read and is aware of the GDPR-rules , or something like that.
Does this mean when the settings come out that I or at the best all my clients can turn off Notifications for certain site users? I had around 50 sites in my Wix Account but every notification and message a client of mine gets I get as well.
This is very sensitive content that I as a developer will get from their customers. I had a spa as a client and got all clients special requests for their partners and so on…
So I would like a function here where I can turn off all notifications on site and for the Wix App for all my client sites.
Yes, exactly, you will be able to turn off notifications for your clients sites. On your mobile app, you can already do this. Simply enter the Wix App, go to your clients’ website’s notifications settings, and mute the ones you’d like to turn off.
What a time saver! Thank you. One thought…It would help if we could filter the notifications by type and/or by website. I think the reason and benefits should be pretty obvious.
Thanks for another great Beta! Personally I do not want to be able to see all the emails a client is receiving via their website. We absolutely need to be able to turn ‘off’ clients. I think ‘off’ should be the default. Thanks again!
@yaara-misholi Hi, I was looking for this discussion to say exactly what @Michiel van Eeuwijk said before me. It bothers me for a long time. I think reading messages sent to other sites need explicit permission from the site owner, and according to the person role. (I might want someone to read the booking messages, but not the personal ones).
To my opinion, the default should be NO NOTIFICATION. The site owner should be fully aware when he/she gives permission to anybody to read any notifications from the site.
“Turning off” from my end is defiantly not enough.
Anyway, its a very useful widget when needed, and it’s great to manage everything in one place!
Thanks
Tamara
