It seems to work fine, but its a truly bad idea as a design element. Obviously there’s a lot of template based elements to any design platform, but adding an element that will only make WIX websites more alike and generic weakens the platform, and dilutes the branding and positioning of any users who wind up employing this solution (imagine 50 websites that have almost the EXACT same welcome message - those businesses wont be happy to be just another ACME - not when every business wants to be seen as unique). If WIX is serious about positioning itself as a solution that can work for a range of users - including professionals and agencies - it should move away from ideas like this that speak to the lowest end of users.

Hello @jacob-murphy . I get the point you are trying to raise here. COPY is one of the things which makes a Brand’s identity truely unique. But, as I can see from your username, you are an Agency and not an End Client. As an agency, it is our duty and responsiblity that our client gets the unique solution we promised. As I can see, this feature is really powerful especially for clients who doesn’t have time, resources nor agencies to handle their branding strategies. For them, it doesn’t really matter that 100s of websites have the same exact copy as far as they can deliver their messaging. And afterall, it is like a Text Editor, suggestions are good, but using it as it is, is anyways not a good idea.

Hello @stevenjose , I can see a great potential of this widget. Here are my suggestions to improve this widget further:
a. this tool can learn from existing websites, using M.L. algorithm and give more accurate ideas
b. this tool can take as inputs 5 major KEYWORDS, just like it takes for helping us do the SEO. Hence, these 5 keywords can help improve the SEO of the website
c. this tool based on the website typology, topic and keywords can search on webapps like medium.com, for relevant blogs to help the creators more in putting their ideas onto their website

If I were to prioritise these points, I would go like this- B > C > A
I hope this feedback helps. Looking forward to hear your ideas about these things.

As someone that understands the power of copywriting and struggling with it, this is an amazing feature that gives an amazing starting point!!!

Thank you!

the idea is very good, but Google doesn’t like duplicate content. In addition it solution will take the work for the content writer … too bad on this point.
The ideal would have been a solution of “spinn text” from a text already provided by the client to avoid the same text everywhere on all wix sites. But hey, for the customer who can’t write it’s really good

Yeah but its not really powerful. Its an ACME maker. And besides the fact that it would homogenize WIX websites (a state WIX is actively trying to move away from) it would also create duplicate content, which google penalizes.

And I can say with near certainty that most end-users wont understand that copy generated for their website isnt unique to them. Most DIY site owners limit their knowledge of WIX and / or design to their specific site. If / when they realize that copy generated for “them” is ubiquitous, WIX will find themselves dealing with another user group full of unhappy customers.

Great feature to be more effective and have some food for thoughts. Thanks!

I’m glad you like it!

Hey,
Thanks for the feedback!
I’m Noa from the Editor.
I think you’re right, for a DIY user who finds it hard to start writing, I believe this is a great feature.
Also, you’re right to say that Google take into account the content in the page, and that is why we believe this tool provides more of ideas than the exact text, we also recommend to personalize the text before publishing.

Thank you for this feedback Ivan!

Hey @jacob-murphy ,
Thank you for the feedback.
I’m Noa from the Editor, and would like to address a few points you raised here.
‘Text Ideas’ was built to provide ideas for what to write in a website, mostly DIY users, users who find it hard to research and come up with the right copy.
Having said that, I believe that even agencies can leverage from this and get some food for thoughts of what to write for each business field.
You’re right to say that Google takes into account the content in the page, and that is why we encourage users to personalize the text before publishing.
I hope that finds you well.

Hey @developershreyan ,
Thank you for the feedback !
I’m Noa from the Editor.
a. I def agree, we see this as the future of this tool.
b. Sure thing, it’s an option that we are thinking of, just to make sure, you mean Keywords as ‘business name’ ‘city’ and so on, or something else?
c. I’d be happy to hear more of what are your thoughts around this.

@noapa - nice to hear from you. For what its worth, as someone who has worked with major global agencies (and plenty of small boutique ones), I can tell you with 100% certainty that NONE of them would find value in this. In fact, a fool proof way to get laughed out of the room (and fired) would be to suggest using a canned tool like this “for ideas”.

This adds zero value to any even semi-professional designers who understand what they’re doing, and while yes, it has appeal to DIY users, it encourages the race-to-the-bottom mentality of pricing WIX has struggled with. (“Why pay for copy? Why write my own? This thing does it for me! Wait, it writes the same thing for everyone?!”).

I appreciate the hard work it must have taken to develop this, but that doesnt change the fact that it is a bad idea that adds less than it takes.

Hello @noapa , here is my answer to your doubts
a. when I say keywords, the keywords can be 5 words which represents the website/ or that particular webpage, or maybe keywords which are the main points of a particular text to be written (filled by the user). Hence the text ideas can be around the subject, topic and 5 keywords for more personalized text and relative text, which would easily solve the problems which could arise as pointed by many in the thread, regarding the Unique content and SEO

b. let us say, my website is about selling chairs. On a particular page, where I’m putting up my text regarding the qualities of a premium chair, while using this Text Idea Generator, what the generator can do is, try to find similar articles on the internet, or on particular websites relevant to the keywords, subject and topic hence by reducing the research time. The applications would especially be beneficial for writing blogs, products descriptions etc. I hope I’m making my point clearer.

Let me know, if you still have doubts.

Hello guys,

I hope everybody doing well.

So is this feature " Text Ideas" also “Content SEO friendly” ?

If yes, it will be awsome :hugs:

Thank you…
