I’m trying to better understand what “custom integrations & animations” really means within Wix Studio.
- What all capabilities can an outside coder bring to the table?
- Can developers incorporate code exported from tools like Sequel, Python, etc., or are we limited to JavaScript-based solutions?
Here’s our specific use:
My client (an international pop-up hostel) wants a custom-coded feature where visitors can “drop a pin” on a world map to show where they’re visiting from, also including their name, Instagram handle, and maybe a photo.
A few questions about this integration:
- Where would this data be stored?
- Can we handle it natively in Wix (via Wix Data / Collections), or would we need an external database and embed the feature in?
- Are there any limitations we should be aware of when integrating custom code like this in Wix Studio?
For reference, we’re inspired by something like Padlet, but we need more customization and control over the visuals and data.
