Coming soon?

Hi together,

first of all, thanks to the Editor X Team for your great work!

I know you work hart to get the most out of Editor X and new releases are in the pipeline. But I have to know this:

In new web design there are a lot of important things to improve the user experience and I don’t know why they are missing.?

Image & content slider/slideshow

One of the most important feature is a slider with buttons to navigate for desktop and swipe on mobile. (Pro gallery is no solution, lagging as hell on mobile. Videos aren’t cropped.) Also a slider for other content like text. And to have the ability to set up those classic dots under the images or other common elements.
I know there are a lot of Velo tutorials because so many users ask for this feature. But non of the Velo solutions are good enough and most of them are very complicated.
You have this on your ‘coming soon’ site but it’s been a while since you have added it.

The Multi-State-Box

I love this feature and I used it all the time for mega menus, tab boxes etc… But, why is it only available with Velo? I’m not a coding pro but I can handle everything that comes with the MultI-State-Box. But it isn’t that easy if you have a lot of tabs or many boxes at ones with a lot of code running for the navigation.
I think Multi-State-Boxes are essentially for web design and for a “no coding” web editor, you have to code a lot to use this feature.

Performance/workflow.

A good workflow together with a good performance is very important to work fast and get your work done. But I have figured out a lot of issues with the performance. Sometimes the editor runs very slow or it is laggy at very simple tasks. But I think this will get better by time. The Wix editor has also a lot of performance issues at the beginning but today, it’s very smooth. I hope for the best.
The workflow with Editor X has to be much better. Currently you can’t select two or more items and drag them to the grid. Only if they are grouped, stacked or in a container. Why?
In every program you can duplicate elements by holding Option/Alt key and drag it with the mouse. Not in Editor X. It’s so important for the workflow.
Please add a feature to lock the grid settings and the sizing options. Particularly in the advanced grid menu!

Shrinking & hide header/sections

The way you can set up the header are very nice and easy to do. But I miss some features. A common way is, to integrate the header into the hero section and if you begin to scroll down, it changes to a standard bar. Here is an example:

On this example site, you can also see a testimonial slider with arrows and dots like i mention before.

At the end I have to say I love working with Editor X and it’s very nice to create simple sites with it. But when it coms to some more advanced but essential features, there are still things to add. I hope the features from the ‘‘coming soon’’ site will be released really soon.

Thanks
Stefan

Thanks for all the feedback Stefan.

Sliders are in the work and no ETA but they should be available to navigate without code as you mentioned with button navigation.

Regarding the multistate boxes, they are built to use code as it’s required to change the states. Want to make sure I understand the ideal way you would like it to function without “code”.

Hear you about the performance. I know a community leader has brought up locking the sizing and docking so will add this feedback to that feature. As for multiselecting, if elements are meant to be “grouped” together and moved together, I will usually place them in a container or group them so it’s easier to control both of those items.

As for the header, there are scroll effects that can be applied like transitions and fill color which should allow for the effect you’re looking for.

You can also choose to overlap next section and make it transparent if you want to display a video like in the hero section in the LANDR site.

What other features were you looking to have added in addition to these?

Hi Roberto
thanks for your reply.

I know the sliders are in the work and I’m hoping they will come soon…
The problem with the State-Box is, that you spend more time in coding than creating. Working fast is essential for clients. Same with the workflow itself. But I’m glad to hear, that the locking feature is coming.

What I mean with the header is, that if we have an option to design 2 different header layouts, one for the hero section and one for scrolling down and other sites, that would be great. And not only use 2 different colors or make them transparent.

Slideshows should be soon but the locking was something brought up a few times in the forum. It seems to be a wanted feature but not sure if it IS being worked on.

As for the different colors, whenever scroll based interactions become available, that should be easier to create. I found this on the Facebook group that seems allow something like this with some code:
