Hello,
I have a table displaying data from a database on this page. It has 47 records in it. When I refresh the page, I often see “Loading…” and it will continue for eternity. I took the screenshot, typed this entire message, and it still says it over there. I’ll refresh and hopefully it will appear, but I don’t want visitors to my site to see this, like, ever! They won’t bookmark and come back!
Hi Sean,
Not sure where to start - I need more information.
How is the data being loaded? Is the table connected to a Dataset? Is it loaded using code? A database query?
Thanks,
Yisrael
Hi Yisrael,
Yes, the data will load normally most of the time when I hit refresh, it’s only occasionally that it says “Loading” and stays stuck there.
It’s connected via a dataset.
It sounds like this is probably more than just a WixCode issue. I’ll pass this on for evaluation.
Thanks
Hi again Sean,
Keep an eye on this and let us know if you see any patterns or coincidences. When does it happen? How often?
Look for errors in the Developers console.
Try spraying your ISP cable with WD-40
Please send us your page URL - maybe our wizards will spot something.
Thanks!
Sure thing Yisrael,
The URL is: https://www.seanarenas.com/Workouts/Compare
And it’s actually happening RIGHT NOW if that helps
But I’ve noticed it on other URLs also, like: https://www.seanarenas.com/workout-stats
Hi , i have the same problem. When i use the preview option, the data inside the table is displayed properly but when i go to the actual live site after publishing - there is no data and its stuck on “Loading”
Hi Roy,
Since you state that in the live site “there is no data”, maybe in fact there is no data.
The following has been plagiarized from a post I made earlier…
Did you sync your sandbox database to the live database? Select your collection (database) from the Site Structure menu on the left side of the Editor screen. You will then get a menu for editing the collection.
As you can see, I chose a collection called Events, your screen will show the name of your collection. The Sandbox database is displayed by default. Click on Live and, and if the Live collection is empty, then click on Sync to add the contents of the Sandbox collection to the Live collection . Once your Live collection has content, your site should display as expected.
I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.
All the best,
Yisrael
Hi Yisrael , i see the “Loading” while both live & Sandbox collections are synced and have the same data inside.
Thanks for the reply Roy. Do you ever see the results displayed on the live site, or does it always come up empty?
I saw this issue once tonight when I tried to show off a page on my site to someone, and it was on mobile. The data loads fine if I refresh the page after a moment, so it’s not an issue of whether the data is there or not, or whether the display is set correctly or not - the data sometimes doesn’t load, and it says “Loading…” for minutes on end.
Problem solved after i have set the collection type of the database to “Site content”.
Thanks
Hey Roy, that was a good catch. Now why didn’t I think of that?
What was the collection type before?
Thanks!
Hi Yisrael,
The permission was set to Form Submission
Hi Sean, is the resolved upon changing permissions?
I never changed my permissions, they were always set that way. All of my databases have always been set this exact way.
And are you still having the issue? any idea how to make it reoccur? it will really help us investigate it.
Liran.
I had the issue a couple weeks ago for a few days, then it stopped. Then it came back for a few days, then it stopped again, and I haven’t had it since. I haven’t made any changes to the settings though.
Hi Sean,
Not trying to make excuses, but the problem might have been connectivity/cloud/Internet issues. If it’s working now - well, you can’t argue with success.
Keep an eye on this and let us know if you see this problem again.
Yisrael
