Editor X - Bugs

I want to ask if anyone has issues with the editor in either WIX or Editor X. Anytime the editor updates or add new features. It throws off my website to the point where I have to edit. Sometimes, the editor doesn’t work, for instance, editing a textbox. It will not highlight or anything. It freezes. I have to throw out the whole thing and start over. It’s been a pattern since I started using WIX in 2018. Things don’t stay the same. I always notice something changes. I have to go back in there and fix it. I’m the only user, there’s no one else.

I recently asked for a callback… no callback in the last half-hour. My event isn’t working right. The header on live site is not matching the CRM in events. I have an event that needs to go out like yesterday. https://www.deafhoosiers.com/event-details/deaf-hearing-teaming-feeding-fundamentals

BTW, I cache all the time. I often use incognito mode. I’m always thinking bugs. Does anyone have the same issues?

Hi Jexist,

I my experience over the years, yes often there are moments where either the application or the browser are not in sync with each other. However, lately it has been smoother sailing than ever before. EditorX was just in beta not too long ago and I was very timid about launching larger sites on that platform. But this is the application life. My Dreamweaver crashes more than Wix does.

I would love to help you. Can you take a screen shot of your SITE PAGES fly-out, with the EVENT detail page’s SEO panel shown?

Is this the only issue you are having with it?

Teejay

I have other issues going on. However, this is the most important that needs attention.

Trying to hone in on what is wrong. You say your “header on live site is not matching the CRM in events”. Can you elaborate.

I am seeing that you screen shot the ORIOLES SEASON PASS heading, is that what you are referring to, because that is not in your details?

What does it say in your ABOUT YOUR EVENT PANEL?

Yes, the header. Orioles Season Pass is on another event.

The about event panel is correct.

Hey @jfriede ,

I am also unsure what is the issue with the header as everything seems to match up on both the header, the URL and on the title for the page.

I couldn’t navigate to events page to see if there’s an issue there.

Mind clarifying a bit what you’re expecting versus what is present? Not sure if this article on the Events SEO may help.

Hi Roberto,

The event panel header is not matching up.

Absolutely. Many people have trouble with EditorX.

I’m wondering how people still defend EditorX despite all the bugs and shortcomings. It’s neither open-source nor a free product. It’s a paid service and does not match any quality standards in regard of stability and usability.

I started to write open letters about this issue because there needs to be change. Asap.

What does your Orioles Seasons Pass event say on its page?

@teejay Indiana School For The Deaf - Indiana School For The Deaf

Hey @jfriede ,

I was able to make a test site and a test event and I see what is causing the Orioles Season Pass and Orioles FANS! text to show on all the event pages.

Within my test site, I was able to see that those lines of text can be set up to customize the Time & Location and About . Since the Event Details & Registration page is a dynamic page used for all events, an update to text here will reflect on every event. I have a screenshot showing the same text in the same position as in your screenshots (which thank you for that last one btw).

Reverting the text back to the default of Time & Location and About or whatever verbiage you like should fix this.

@Rob Thanks… more settings… alright.

@jfriede I am still seeing the Orioles text on the live site for Deaf Hearing so let me know if that worked. If not, I can try making a ticket or having a team take a look.

Hi Roberto, thanks for checking in. Yes, I updated just now. I didn’t have to do that before. I was not able to put in more characters. Anyhow, wIth all the changes going on inside Editor X, causing so many problems with the website. Ugh… I’m thinking of leaving WIX. I can’t keep cleaning up after them.

Thank you, Roberto! You’ve been a great help!

Glad to hear and see @jfriede though I see that the Orioles page has the terminology that Deaf Hearing has. Since I see that the Orioles event is not active, you should be okay updating the default from Time & Location and About for now and maybe updating it for each event.

If you can share, what other updates were causing problems on the site?
