Expand on/expose the API of the Wix Restaurant App

I’m slightly disappointed to see that the Wix restaurant app doesn’t have API access, which means that modifications can be quite tricky. I’m trying to implement the a restaurant site that allows for custom discount codes & build more a of a CRM system. This seems like something that would be perfect for Wix Store except that is missing some customizability in terms of the check-out process. Specifically I like the feature that allows you to restrict the delivery radius, sending a fax for confirmation, and (though I’m unlikely to use it) order management.

It’s a bit disappointing that while the store can be connected to a customer login, the restaurant orders are not.

It would be super super interesting if there was a way for API to create an order so that in the future, I can potentially send orders from other platforms into Wix and then have it confirm there.

If anyone has any ideas if this is possible via the store app (via adding code to the checkout process) – I would love to hear you out!

Anyways, it’s definitely come a long way but little things like this make me want to consider shopify or just going with a third party POS system.

Hola Calvin, Me encuentro en lo mismo que tu. Quisiera que la pagina que realice con wix restaurante ubicara la dirección automaticamente de mi cliente. Sin necesidad de que el escriba su dirección. Tu pudiste solucionar esto?

I share the same experiences… Like for instance customizing default settings or design of the provided app-integrations, gives me a headache… Might swap platform during summer break unless I see some better customization for wix apps…

Are there any updates about this? We’re trying to develop our own order module and make it so our clients can manage the orders sent by our system in their own Wix applications. The issue is that our system is built in Python and the only solution I have found is to use a Java SDK. If the API was exposed we would have no problem with the integration, but that seems to not be the case.
