Feature Request: Adding Contextual Shortcut Bar to Text Elements

I think that making the Wix text element editor more accessible can be a real game-changer in making fast website designs.

Right now, we have to run again and again to the inspector panel to make any changes in formatting. Yes, we can use the shortcuts, but not everyone is fluent in that.

I think having a Contextual Shortcut bar when a user is editing text can make building a website fast and more accessible. I like the Harmony’s text editor, for example. It’s on top of the editor, always accessible, and I can use it with ease. Adding similar experience in Wix Studio can help web developers a lot. Just add a tiny Option Menu on top of the text element with Basic Formatting, Font Size, and Color options; that’s more than enough.

Another off-topic suggestion is Auto Focus for elements. The elements on the right side can hide behind the inspector panel on large breakpoints, like If I have a text element with 100% section width, its rightmost part is not visible when I type in, unless I use the trackpad to scroll. Having an autofocus that automatically brings the selected element in focus can make the workflow smoother.

I like both of these suggestions :raising_hands: Worth submitting them as proper feature requests here - https://www.wix.com/updates?view=planned&form=request-a-feature - if you haven’t already

Interested in hearing more about how you imagine the autofocus working :eyes:

Ideally, I would love a Detached Layers Panel instead of its current position in the side panel. When the user selects a layer, the editor automatically brings that element into focus.

For text, for large breakpoints, the horizontal scroll should automatically move the page sideways if the text is hidden behind the inspector panel or side menu.

Noted feedback :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: Also something I’ve experienced once or twice before
