Is there a user-to-user forum for discussing general Wix issues and/or asking pre-sales questions? I’m new to Wix, and it looks quite promising for my needs.
However, I have a couple questions before I commit to a paid plan - such as, how scalable is it? Could it be used to create a social media platform? If my site outgrows the storage capacity, can more be purchased, or should I connect to another cloud service like AWS from the get-go? Also, if I already have a G Suite account, can I take advantage of the reduced G Suite cost through Wix?
If someone can point me in the right direction to get these questions addressed, I’d appreciate it.
Wix offer a monthly or yearly packages, allowing you to commit on a monthly bases. Also, consider that the Wix free plan offers almost all the features of Wix, including all our hosting, CDN and storage infra. You pay for connecting a domain, removing the wix banner or enabling applications like eComm.
You seem to have a concern around scalability and storage. What are we talking about here? a few GBytes? TBytes? or more? What type of data? How much traffic?
Wix today offers a free plan that fits reasonable use for a website. If you need something exceptional (lets say, you need to store 10 PBytes of data), you can use Wix Code to tap into AWS, Google Cloud, Azure or any other type of cloud infra, store the data there and still have the site built using Wix Code.
Thanks for the reply, Yoav. There seems to be contradictory information on the Wix website regarding storage. This page states, “the unlimited bandwidth and storage options are intended for very high traffic sites that have a high usage of media assets”. My question is, WHAT unlimited storage options? I see only unlimited bandwidth in the premium plans.
Also, does database storage count toward the storage limit in the premium plans?
And finally, I have a start-up business idea, and I’m looking for a platform to create an MVP (minimum viable product). My business idea is membership based and would entail members uploading content (images, audio files, etc.). I can imagine quickly “outgrowing” 20GB if my idea is successful. Is there no way to scale as my business grows?
