I am using Wix Studio; new Wix forms (so ReCAPTCHA is supposed to be built-in). Getting 6-10 spam submissions daily (they are not being marked as spam). Wix support has not been helpful at all and this is something we need to get resolved asap.
I have tried turning off Google Display Network for ads, I have tried adding honeypots to the forms (automations won’t work), sending automated emails and only replying to responses, etc.
Hi Alex
Could you maybe share the link to your Website, so we can check it out?
Nice design to the site!
When you say “spam,” can you clarify what you mean? Do you mean it’s not the kind of form submission you’re looking for (e.g., low-quality or irrelevant responses), or is it actual spam - like completely unrelated or obviously automated content?
Thank you, Noah!
Our normal (/legit) inquiries are usually very descriptive such as “I have a brick house from 1922 that needs a wall repaired”, but we’re getting hundreds of “home restoration quick” / “fix home” / “kitchen remodl” (lots of typos, fake emails, etc).
So low-quality replies I suppose!
I know how frustrating it is when that happens
I tend to find ReCAPTCHA works best on people who are using automated tools to submit forms. That said - this is usually one of the tradeoffs with having a website - people will spam forms if they find them.
If the replies are along the lines of what your website is about, it is harder to detect. Hoping you see a decrease
