Hello, I have my website https://www.emiliagobbo.com/, the Sitemap has already been registered and sent to the Search Console, the button to index the site is activated but Google still does not index it. How long does it take to index it? Thank you so much.
Hi,
It can generally take days or even weeks for the Google Bot to stop by. However, you can also speed it up in the Search Console by manually adding up to 10 pages per day to the index queue. This will speed things up.
Greetings, Spektral
Thanks Spektral, it’s strange, because in other cms like Wordpress a site is indexed in one or 2 days. I already manually sent the pages to the Search Console 3 days ago, but there is still nothing. I am sending you attached a screenshot where it says ‘Excluded by No Index’
Is there perhaps a noindex tag in the page, possibly by mistake? In the Wix Editor this is a toggle button. A noindex tag can block Google from indexing a page so that it won’t appear in search results.
Where can I find that button on the editor? Thanks!
a page → website-menu → 3 dots → SEO Basics → then at the bottom
Hi!
There are several possible reasons why Google Search Console may indicate “noindex” for a web page even though the page does not have a “noindex” tag in the source code…
The web page could be blocked by the robots.txt file, which prevents search engines from indexing the page. The page could contain a meta robots tag that instructs search engines not to index the page, even though there is no visible noindex tag. If the page has a canonical tag pointing to another page, Google may interpret the page as a duplicate and decide not to index it. If the content of the page is loaded dynamically via JavaScript, Google may not index it correctly and incorrectly interpret it as noindex.
But it is also possible that there was an error crawling or indexing the page that caused Google to incorrectly interpret the page. Sometimes it simply helps to wait a little.
Regards!
Thank You, a last question: My Robots TXT is Ok or I I should change something? https://www.emiliagobbo.com/robots.txt
Hola Emilia or webdesigner for Emilia,
your robots.txt file does not contain any instructions for indexing or not indexing pages by Googlebot. The only specific instruction for Googlebot is that URLs with the parameter “?lightbox=” should be blocked.
You could also use a browser with a Google Bot Agent to check the behavior further. However, Google may simply not be “interested” in your page. This can happen, for example, if there is very little content on the page.
In my experience, not always, but very often, any crawling issues simply resolve themselves over time. Maybe you submit the sitemap again, start the index process again and just wait a week
